Basic skills course in occupational safety and health according to the British NEBOSH methodology
1. Understand how to manage risks in the workplace and develop skills to detect various hazards.
2. Learn about local and international occupational safety and health regulations and legislation, and introduce the establishment and role of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as one of the National Transformation Programs and its role in achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
3. Understand how to develop appropriate measures and procedures to prevent and control hazards.
4. Understand how to assess and manage risks, and identify hazard types and methods for controlling them.
5. Develop students' capabilities and qualify them to perform the duties of a safety officer competently, with the ability to supervise work areas, identify observations that affect the safety of workers and the facility, and develop plans and corrective actions to prevent or reduce the risk in the workplace.
6. Train students to use the matrix in the risk assessment process and train them to determine probability and severity.
7. Students acquire skills to define controls for risk control procedures according to the procedures of the risk control pyramid and identify appropriate solutions for controlling them.
